She mainly wears a Timex I got for her a couple years ago
And to make it worse, often watches are sent with "signature required" upon delivery.
It is really hard to spend half a day in the garage, waiting for the FedEx or UPS truck to show up.
My wife will come out to the garage every hour or so and ask "What are you working on now?"
It requires some real creativity on creating "worthwhile activities" in the garage while waiting for the watch to arrive. 😀

This is an easy one -- I don't share the news. For the most part they really aren't interested, anyway (other then the money aspect). Better to share the news with your watch buddies, as they will likely appreciate it more.
And later when the inevitable question is asked "Is that a new watch?", just reply "I have had this for a while, mumble mumble, surprised you don't remember, mumble mumble." And you will not be lying whatsoever, as at that point you will have had it for at least a couple of days (i.e., 'a while').
I haven't really told my partner about how much I've spent on watches, and I think she'd blow a gasket to learn that 3% of net worth is tied up in watches. I'm just going to quietly sell a few off and 'rebalance the portfolio'... But also thinking about useing the proceeds to buy a speedy...
