It's A DOKA, short for double cab. It's based on a Vanagon. Holds a ton, lots of torque. Sides fold down on the bed.
They weren't imported into the US but were sold in Canada, which is where this came from (BC). After 25 years, USA allows imports, so many DOKAs were imported from Sweden or other places.
There was something called the chicken tax that stopped them from coming into the US. Germany stared taxing US chickens so USA retaliated by taxing German trucks, like this one from VW.
I sold this on Bringatrailer.com (BAT) a few years ago. I owned it for 3 years, sold it to a friend who had it 3 years, then sold it back to me and I had it another 3 years. They're more well known in Vanagon circles, and there are alot of Vanagons on the West coast.
Just figured if Pastorbottle doesn't like Kombis then he'd HATE this. Too tempting to pass up.
