those sellers who delete the price of the watch from their listing after the item has been sold - happening less these days thankfully.

What happened to Fred? One too many ‘stick it up the —-‘ to a mod?

At risk of Archer issuing another ban, I did personally enjoy those sweet package deals and hearing about digging up barn finds in the Philippines.

But yeah, seemed like a lot of attitude to deal with.

1/2 a ban...😉

This, because nobody can solve it.

Not an old USPS logo, now superseded by the flying eagle - or similar company? Just a guess after seeing this:

Does look to me like something you would see on the side of a delivery van or a pizza delivery service.

I find it difficult to comprehend individuals who post "Want to Buy" (WTB) ads and not only refuse to pay the market price but also expect to secure a bargain. Personally, when I post a WTB ad for something I'm struggling to find, I am willing to pay a price above the market value, and I believe it is not appropriate for me to make lowball offers. I used to browse the WTB section to see if I could assist anyone, but I have completely abandoned that practice.

Sellers stating “I just want to get what I paid for…”
I do not want to pay for your overspending and it is not a god given right not to loose money on hobbies.

That shouldn’t happen so if you see it let us know. The sales listings should stay after being marked as sold as future reference material and that is effectively the price we ask in exchange for free listings.

Asking if [insert family heirloom] is authentic. Spend the money and get it authenticated by a watchmaker.

That’s not really the job of watchmakers, especially detecting Frankens or redials. Most of them have enough to do without also acting as historians, but then these questions are the original questions on this site.

The first two years were almost nothing but, “is this omega real” type questions.

If these are legit (which usually means the poster takes the time to introduce themself and provide context), I think they can be some of the more interesting and satisfying threads.

I was told by 3 jewelers and a watchmaker that my first Omega Constellation looked original before posting it here and being quickly shown that it was an obvious redial. I'm much more "peeved" by new members who insist the experts here on OF are wrong about the watch they asked for authentication of because their watchmaker told them otherwise.

Eve Eve
When people ask a question, and a member gives his one-liner "uneducated guess".
Even though few posts later a detailed answer is given, there are some other members that would still give a "like" to the lazy one-liner buddy, but wont ever give a like the proper answer.
When someone posts a detailed question about a certain model with good pictures and the reply starts "I don't know anything about this watch/model/brand, but...."

Not a pet peeve but I wish it was more active. I realize most folks are on Facebook but I'm old school and prefer forums.

All the old British cars in the Automotive Excellence thread.

The fact that I can’t troll Archer.

There is no Premier League thread.

Better those gorgeous old British cars than evil, masochistic slow, noisey, uncomfortable, ill handling, hideous Dak-Daks (VW beetles and kombis) the bloody awful things all look the same and have absolutely no endearing features.
(That oughta get a rise! ::stirthepot::😁)

You just aren’t trying hard enough to troll Archer.
(Sorry Archer in advance for any new attempts to troll you)

And no sane normal person cares about soccer!
( if the VW comment wasn’t enough to stir up a shit fight this one should work a treat 😁)
