What are some of your pet peeves in the forum?

I will go first 😁
It drives me crazy when I am checking some "for sale" posts where I have to scroll up and down a dozen times just to find the asking price. Even worse when the description is scattered all over the place in between the pictures.
Maybe I am getting old and grumpy but at least Chatgpt agrees with me 😁

I kinda like not being able to find the price right away cause it gives me false hope it may be affordable to me.

A question about a watch followed by seven miles of redundant photo-scrolling showing 10 degree angle changes in all relevant watch positions.

Not really a peev, more of a petty annoyance:

I'd like to have all the still available FS sorted together before the Sold.

Would like the ability to edit PMs, at least longer than the current short duration, as well as delete a PM post. There's probably good reasons for the current setup, but I sometimes need to correct spelling, clarify, or even delete a pocket post 🤦

Spending Too much time on the forum

I remain slightly frustrated that it isn't possible to remotely send small electric shocks to members who, in my opinion, of course, have behaved badly. 😁

I think my watch purchases should come with a year of free frozen yogurt. I mean who doesn’t like froyo? 👍 Seriously, I wish that we didn’t have to pay for ad free OF, but I understand why and I wish that every time I post a WTB thread that I didn’t have to deal with at least one scammer who just happens to have a friend named Joey who has exactly what I’m looking for. 🫨

Mine applies to life in general. People who can’t even do a cursory Google search or even the slightest bit of helping themselves before asking someone else to do it for them. Especially when sometimes the Google search would be quicker than asking someone else. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted to hit colleagues with a “let me google that for you” link.

Caveat, I understand we are all guilty sometimes when we’re hanging on the forum and just ask someone for a reference number or something. That’s kinda why we’re here. There’s a line though. It’s the old “ask three before me”. Except now we have Google.

Not a peeve or a moan , I would like a forum to just trade watches or even a swop shop where you can do a trade on a watch with somebody for a equal or thereabouts value or trade up or down ( it probably already exists but I’m lazy & haven’t bothered to look). Doesn’t even have to be a watch it could be a bracelet, strap or accessories etc etc . I have quite a few watches that I would happily exchange for another watch or bracelet or strap or buckle & on & on ...

Yep! Should IMO always be at the very end, preferably with a "Price:" in bold lettering as well.

I appreciate this is the thin end of the mother of all cans of worms (and, sure, possibly off-topic too), but I'm interested in your experience: do you think ChatGPT is capable at present of disagreeing with you?

I had never thought about that before but I would have to say, Yes.
That said ChatGPT requires a thread of its own. I have been using it for a few months now and it's incredible how much it has impacted my business positively. I use it daily.

I LOVE reverse auctions, we need more in our FS section.

New members should be allowed to post in WTB section. Hard to commit fraud while buying stuff unless ofcourse the seller acts recklessly/without due diligence just because they are dealing with a forum member.

@Trev has actually been working on addressing some of the UX to make it more friendly around the FS section and prices, its just a really big job as its part of a much larger overall update.

So it’s up to the seller to sift through the minefield of scammers 😗

Would a standardized template for listings be better I wonder? So the price and info is presented in standard way? Some sellers provide very little detail, and others too much.

Just the want to buy section. So sellers won't get bombarded with scammers(but it's another thing that they any way can contact them via DM). In want to buy section sellers can choose if to respond or not. Plus whole interaction will be visible to all, rather than DM making it more difficult to scam?

The techs behind this forum are already doing commendable work. This is THE most user friendly forum I have experienced.

@wsfarrell we can, do, and always have when things get reported that are too far like the post you just made because it causes us a lot of trouble and problems.
