I am sure there is some sales algorithm that tells Rolex the optimal number to produce to keep a constant demand year after year after year that produces the highest profit.

Makes sense in this scenario IMO. They needed a currency adjustment over there. Even with the VAT, the UK prices were dreamy compared to the rest of the world. This is more of a "market adjustment" I think, and it is logical.
