Well that did not work out. PO @ Jared Jewelers

So after 12 years I sold my Sea master PO. It had served me well though I did find the bracelet to be the weak link (no pun intended). I made it perhaps 3 weeks before realizing I missed wearing that 45MM mass on my wrist so I started the search for a new replacement. Since 45mm is required it does limit my choices. I like black so that trims them down. Found a number of Chronographs including through reputable dealers on E Bay and Jomashop etc. But the pricing was not low enough to justify not buying from a AD. So I ordered a "new" Planet Ocean online @ Jared Jewelers. Waited 3 days and was really blown away when it showed up. No tags, no factory protective film, clasp had a pretty good scratch on it, box was worn and the warranty card was blank. Note on invoice stated my warranty had been registered. *5 years with Omega) would have been due. But the white box had a 2013 sticker on it. Clearly the watch had been either a return or best case demo unit. Decided to go with JomaShop and saved $2K over AD. I get it about service but my prior PO made it 12 years and I only tuned it up once then outside warranty. I cant believe that Jared would let that go out the way it was sent. Adhesive gum on band the whole nine yards. I would have been better off buying used on Chrono24 or even E Bay with their authenticator.

Every retailer has the capacity of letting QC slide from time to time. Have you seen the threads of Omega boutiques and AD’s accidentally scratching cases? If you search Jomashop through the forum you’ll see a bunch of threads where Joma dropped the ball. If you look into the eBay authenticator, you’ll see a handful of threads talking about how items went missing while in the hands of the authenticator and were delivered to the buyer (who had a massive uphill battle just to be heard regarding the missing items).

I recently bought a DSOTM from Jared. I figured since they have already lost Omega AD status going forward that there was nothing keeping them from discounting. Only 3 stores nationwide had stock, so ordered via phone from the closest one. Shows up and it’s in the wrong box (standard light wood, not the black DSOTM box) and cards for a completely different ref # watch.

Notified them immediately and they locate another with the correct box/cards and swap them out.

looking back, both watches boxes (sleeve not wood) were reasonably beat up. Mine had 2016 stickers, but believe that is for the box sets, not watch itself from what many on here have said. Even so, would make sense they they would be shipped together. My warr card states 4 years, so that means that it’s from before 2018, when they went to 5.

It’s no wonder they lost their status as an AD.

I would not worry about the empty warr card, your invoice is dated and is proof enough for omega warr.

Jared is out as an Omega AD. They are selling off whatever they have left in stock. Caveat emptor.

They are still worth it to me; they are discounting more than most and you still get the 5 year Omega Warranty/full cards vs a Grey dealer. I’ll skip the fanfare at the OB for the discount at the moment.

I purchased a PO black 43.5 from Jared's store in Knoxville in Jan. 2022. Received a 20% discount and the watch, box, etc. were spotless.
Went back in Feb. and purchased the SMP 8800 blue dial. Same discount and sales experience. I can't speak for other Jared's or on-line purchases but the store I frequent is impeccable.

The watch was likely a demo unit.
Boxes are kept as a separate item and put together with a watch upon a sale. There isn't a single specific box for a specific watch. The box you received was probably just one of the last few they had laying around..
Warranty cards are normally blank now, there have been a few threads about this, so no worries there.

If the discount was good, I would just take it to a boutique to have them do a (free) pressure test and make sure the warranty is valid. If everything checks out, keep it. A scratch on the clasp sucks but you know you're going to put a few scratches on that yourself eventually.
