Watertightness of neo-vintage Speedys?

I have a question to the watchmakers and experts on OF. I wouldn't get my vintage watches from the 50s and 60s near water, but how about neo-vintage Speedys from the late 80s early 90s? I have a 3590.50 from 1989/90. Would it, after a proper service that is, be as waterproof as a modern Speedmaster?
