Watchmaker Who Can Service My Tudor 7016?

My watchmaker, who has recently serviced my Ed White, balked at the idea of servicing my 'Flake 7016. Wouldn't touch it, wouldn't take my money.

Now, who knows how long it hasn't had a service, so I don't want to wind and wear it without the confidence of knowing it's well oiled, etc etc.

Suggestions? Someone around the San Diego area would be best

Don't have an answer for you, but did your watchmaker say why he would not service the Tudor? They are not exactly difficult to service by any means...

Didn't want to start servicing something he may not be able to get parts for..

This would have an ETA movement inside, not the 390 from FEF, so movement parts really should not be that big of an issue. The 2484 is based on the 2450 family, and shares a lot of parts with calibers like the 2472 - you can find parts for these usually without problems. I have a whack of 2472 parts and spare donor movements as they were common in the vintage Doxa 300's that I once serviced a lot of...

Hmn, I had the impression that the movement was modified enough from ETA that donor parts would be hard to find. Well, off to my other watchmaker then!

Of course it would all depend on what parts you need...you won't know that until it's apart, cleaned, and each part is inspected...

My main concern is the low power reserve - is the mainspring at least compatible with "stock" ETA?

Mainsprings are readily available - not necessarily related to low power reserve though...

I sent my 7016 to Rik http://www.timecareinc.com/ in Florida. He gets the nod from a lot of folks on rolex forums.

Otherwise there is ABC watchwerks in LA and Bob Ridley. The latter never even responded to my initial email request.

I send all my Rolex to Bob Ridley or his son Philip in Texas. Watchmakers International.
Never had a bad experience. YMMV with Rik

I found this place from a video showing a 5513 being serviced and since they were near me (Jewelers on Time in Newport Beach) I put them in my address book. They appear to specialize in Rolex but I have no experience with them.

Maybe someone here knows something about them, good or bad.

Vanessa is good and well regarded at TRF. If she is close enough to you, go for it.

I blame it on the autoconnect.
