  • Hi all. I am looking to get a seamaster 300 (ceramic, coaxial, not the latest model). Is it a fair trade for my speedmaster 175.0032 two tone on leather strap (comes with original box) and a Tudor two tone oysterdate ref 90733 (with bracelet) and Breitling Aerospace Avantage.

All watches are in good condition for their age.

Hello,

pictures would be a good start. Also take a look at what all these are going for on the second hand market.....seems like a lot to give up, but again you aren’t giving us much to start with.

Are you trading to an individual or a dealer?
Do you have a pic of the desired watch?

It not easy to trade up like that and you usually won’t get a good deal. But you know the values as well as most members. What values do you place on the four watches involved. Based on recent eBay sold items for example.

Better not to ask people to do all the work for you.

I am not sure of the prices as they seem to fluctuate greatly. In my mind, a fairer deal might be the Speedmaster + the Tudor perhaps? Thoughts?

I think you know the prices better than me. They’re your watches, and you must at least have some idea of the value of the watch you’re trying to buy. How about some help from you. What could you sell them for.

I bought these watches many years ago, I don't know how much they cost currently. I have already looked on ebay, prices fluctuate greatly.

I’m not sure how much help any of us can be....if the other party wants to trade and you want to trade go for it. Alternatively, if you think you have more value my advice would be to sell what you got and then pay the difference for the 300. 👍

Sell your watches then buy. Going to be hard to find someone that wants to trade for those 3 watches.

Most people I know will want to trade for money quicker 😉

I think the OP will get more help if he shows some willingness to do a little work himself. I suggest spending some time with the advanced search engine on eBay to look for actual SOLD prices of similar watches. Not listing or asking prices. Put in some effort.

Or else just do the trade.

Or put them up for auction on eBay and take what you get.

Only look at Sold Auction results on eBay, preferably on auctions that had many bidders. Those ending results will give you the best estimate of what the market thinks they are worth. You can use auction results from watches that are close to yours; they don't have to be exactly the same. Ignore Buy It Now sales

I run into myself. Usually consult someone here. I don’t sell many watches but I will to get something fresh.

OP should contact watchbox and bobs. Not saying sell to them but get an estimate via pics. In my experience bobs tends to give a high offer by pic then when they have it they drop it substantially. I must say watchbox treated me good with that Cellini I had. The photo offer matched up with the offer once they had it. Bobs differed by 40%. Just a suggestion to OP. Watchbox will trade as well but straight up sale seems to best way to go.

That’s a brutal tactic. Seems like it would piss people off a lot.

Doesn't seem like a bad trade to me if you wear the omega a lot more.

Dude if you look up reviews off of bobs site it happens frequently and the complaints are pages. They said my Cellini sucked watchbox said it was good just needed a couple things which was a fine appraisal it was a 90’s gold Cellini had some minor scratches as it was solid, 18kt which you know is soft and going to pick up scratches over twenty to thirty years. I always wondered the gold weight of it. It was a small case, the band wasn’t gold but the deployment was. I tried looking up the gold weight but never found out. I can’t imagine it was that much. I really didn’t wear it and it allowed me to get my speedy so I was quite pleased.
