https://www.yahoo.com/news/police-h...fore-stealing-his-115000-watch-110110100.html " Police have released the name of a man who was stabbed by three thieves before fleeing with his £115,000 watch. The gang yanked the timepiece from the wrist of Bo Khan, 55, during what police described as a “violent robbery”, in Berkeley Square, in London’s Mayfair. Mr Khan was stabbed in the arm as the men snatched the watch off his wrist - but he recalled the moment he chased after the gang. He told the Evening Standard: “They tried to cut through the tendon in my arm to disable me and stop me fighting back. They knew what they were doing. “I chased after them because it was so out of order. All I can think about is how worse it could have been." "Thieves stole a Breguet Tourbillon watch - similar to this - worth a reported £115,000" Photos of the bandits are in the article.
If you feel the need to chase assailants who stabbed you and stole your watch it might be time to reconsider your priorities. He's lucky to just have lost his watch.
oh if London is anything like NYC it won't be much of a problem to get big money for it. Chances are the crooks have a very good idea what to do with the watch...
It’s entirely possibly that soccer hooligans target people wearing £100k watches when they’re not chasing other hooligans around the streets looking for a punch-up, I suppose.
Fakkin right mate! We're all too busy watching out for the next terrorist to stab us in the street to worry about 'watch muggers'. Even If they nick them, they're not even allowed to keep them locked up for long anyway! I doubt they will catch them as they probably are not even registered as UK citizens. Definitely not the city I grew up in during the 1960's...
I guess I will wear my cheapest Casio while visiting my sister in law this coming summer. My mother in law did just visit my sil in London with her Rolex and she was fine.
Seriously? I don't know where you are from, but check out street crime stats for London compared with other cities in the world before you get too worried. London is one of the safest cities in the world. Probably because we don't have guns, but that's another conversation. #justsaying.
I never go to London because of the safety problems. In fact, I never leave the house because of that.
I was being a little sarcastic but I’ve never been to London so I wouldn’t know. And you are correct. I live in Chicago so any place would probably be more safe. But I also know when to wear my nice watches and when not to. I’d rather not get robbed regardless if it’s Chicago (more likely shot here) or stabbed in London.
Stabbings in London is very much confined to youth gangs in very specific areas. Crimes like this are extremely rare, which is why they make the news.
