If you like that you'll love these guys - cover for a rolex is 300 AUD, or 165 quid

Buying my Seamaster recently, the salesperson asked if I wanted the plastics taken off. I said absolutely, yes, and he said he had to ask because some buyers get really upset apparently. What was pretty cool - to me at least - was that most of the plastics had fallen off by themselves when I was looking at it the week before. It was my watch on first sight.

He even made a topic because, whilst making a shot of 3 watches in his hand, one fell on a grass surface and the clasp "damaged" the caseback;

He was seriously contemplating selling it and get on the list for a new Sub.::facepalm1::

You are spending too much time on WUS.

Nope, was a local watchforum. That person also created the ::facepalm1::::facepalm1:: thread of all threads as he was being a dramaqueen about sunscreen lotion getting on the strap of his 100 euro Gshock asking for advice how to deal with it:

Long story short, he sold it and got a new one.🤨

Im going to have to Google this as obviously my gut reaction is that this is a joke, but thinking about it, it wouldn’t surprise me if this kind of shite actually exists.

The magic of google … and only $129…

I might consider a couple of sticky tabs to protect the spring bar holes but otherwise it can take it chances like me and unlike me have a light polish every 10 years…..

Can you imagine this sort of human with a newborn child, a toddler... chilling.

OP, watch this video. It will teach you about keeping scratches, scuffs and dings in perspective.

How does someone with this level of anxiety about a watch even function in life? I hope he’s just trolling.

I can actually understand the “screen protector” plastic cover for the RM for what those things cost and it is probably barely noticeable. The full cutout thing for the Rolex is just absurd.

Nope, he was always annoyingly posting wristshots of the front and the clasp in WRUW everytime.

The watch protection business seems crowded seeing all these products. This one showed up in an email I just received this morning...

My funny story on the topic is that when I bought an adjustable clasp for my 1861 Speedmaster,

The lady handed me my watch back with the clasp fitted and I said something like "There appears to be a scratch or something" and looked closer. She said "That's a protective plastic".

The plastic looked so good except for a little misapplied spot that I didn't realise there was a film on the clasp!

So I purchased a Nice Seiko Diver… that the previous owner had placed a protective film on the sapphire crystal. Silly ,I removed it and enjoyed a nice new looking crystal.

I recently purchased a 5 year old Omega Seamaster ceramic. Owner had worn it all day everyday. Minor imperfections, scratches and gouges that really were insignificant….. yet needed a new crystal since the anti reflective coating had issues in the right light.
I decided to have Omega Tech refinish entire watch. This way, it’s mine and like new…. Then I will give it all new scratches as the year’s go on. Why did I do that? Because scratches give character, showing that you use the watch for it’s intended purpose. I wanted my own character of scratches and gouges as i plan to keep it.
Wear the watch, and enjoy the small details of character it receives. They are made pretty durable… so don’t sweat it man.
