Watch Protection

Hi guys,

Recently bought a 41mm Aqua Terra. I have seen clear film to protect watches, but can't find any for the aqua terra, which was odd because I thought it was one of Omega's main lines.

If anyone could point me in the direction of a company that sells protective films, or has methods of protecting shiny bracelets from scratches, I would be very grateful.

Can you explain what you are looking for exactly? Usually protective film is applied by the manufacturer, but removed by the owner before wearing the watch. Are you planning to apply protective film to the watch and bracelet and then wear the watch? I've never heard of that, although my grandmother did have plastic covers for the cushions on her sofa. 馃槙

Or are you looking to apply protective film to make the watch look new before selling it?

I think he is asking how do you shrink-wrap your watch so it never gets scratched, and stays forever shiny.

So he's asking how to store the watch long-term and keep it in like-new condition? For an Omega Aqua Terra? 馃え

I think it is the new-luxury-watch-owner-syndrome.

Trying to keep your luxury watch forever mint and scratch-free.

The syndrome will go away after he bashes the Omega against a door frame the first time.

I know someone who carries a cloth with him to put under his wrist whilst working at his desk to protect the clasp from scratches.

Is the person wearing the watch, or the watch wearing the person?
Experts are still debating to this day.

He even made a topic because, whilst making a shot of 3 watches in his hand, one fell on a grass surface and the clasp "damaged" the caseback;

He was seriously contemplating selling it and get on the list for a new Sub.::facepalm1::

OP, as you may have gathered, this isn鈥檛 something that is usually done, and it鈥檚 not something anyone here is likely to know about or support.

The AT is a great watch鈥攔obust and built to outlast you (with routine maintenance). Everyone here will likely say what I鈥檇 say too: wear it in good health. Let it get dinged and scratched. Every mark will be a part of its history with you. And then, when you send it in for service, if you really don鈥檛 like the wear, Omega can properly refinish it for you: it鈥檒l come back looking brand new.

I'm going to traverse the High Road here...

1. Hello, glad you're here.

2. AT is a beautiful watch, have a photo for us?

3. Maybe try just wearing it and try to relax into the expenditure on your wrist?

4. While doing #3 try occasionally chanting, mantra - style, "The patina of Use is good... it reaffirms that I own the watch and not that the watch owns me."

5. If #3 & #4 don't work, https://www.glad.com/food-protection/food-wraps/

6. If #1 to #5 don't work consider having it relumed, just because.

Im going to have to Google this as obviously my gut reaction is that this is a joke, but thinking about it, it wouldn鈥檛 surprise me if this kind of shite actually exists.
