My first mechanical watch was the Tag Heuer Carrera 1887 a couple of years ago:

My most recent purchase was usurped by my wife as the photographic evidence will attest...

My first watch that I remember purchasing was a sometime in the spring of 2015. I'm sure I had watches throughout my childhood but don't remember what they were. This watch I bought because I was starting my EMT course and need a seconds hand to assist with taking vitals. Purchased from the sales section at Walmart. I still have it, not ticking anymore of course.

And the most recent:

My first serious watch purchase, about three years ago (now resold as I found it too small), and my most recent.

In true European tradition, me & my brothers got our first & expensive watch at the age of 12... to be bitten by the chronograph virus.
Most recent will be the " 50 years Apollo 11 " LE edition in 2019, at least if Omega SA continues the current trend of historically correct timepieces (steel manual wind chronograph, DON bezel, sublime dial, etc... )

The first watch I ever bought was a tank-style fashion quartz. I picked it up around the time I landed my first job out of school. It cost about 100 dollars and I remember feeling a strong sense of embarrassment at the time for having paid such a whopping sum. Aside from that and from the visible logo (which, to assuage my discomfort, my girlfriend at the time assured me wasn't too ostentatious), I really did love that watch and wore it exclusively, 7 days a week for 15 years until it broke for good. Pic below is from internet.

It took far too many subsequent false starts and dead ends before I discovered the simple vintage three hander that has floated my boat ever since. My latest is a modest Polerouter Cal. 215. I don't have a good picture of it yet, sharing the wrist shot below in the meantime. (i still hold a soft spot for steel tank watches, but don't own any):

The first piece that really hurt my wallet is this Tudor, that I've loved for the past three years. I fell for it when I saw the first ads in 2012, and my first "big time" piece was going to be this or a modern Speedy pro. I got this one with my first couple of paychecks in 2014, and the Speedy 7 months afterwards.
The Zenith came to my home on the past Friday evening, and 24 hours before that I had no idea I was going to buy another piece 😀
A friend listed it and when I see a piece that I won't be able to find again (at least on the same conditions) I just go for it !

This was my first "serious" purchase after I started falling in love with the Seiko simple 3 hander designs and before I was comfortable springing for a Grand Seiko:

A lovely watch and I really enjoyed it while I owned it. Alas, once I got started on GS (modern and vintage), it had to go as it sat unused.

And my latest continues my fascination with the 57GS case and dial design, and something I feel comfortable wearing as a daily.

My first was a Seiko SNK809 bought in graduate school, and my first "good" watch was a Sinn 556a which was a gift upon finishing.

Most recent was a Tag Heuer CS3110 Carrera Re-edition:

My first watch was a graduation present from my mother-in-law in 1973, after completing my bachelors degree at the University of Tennessee. My new watch which I bought yesterday.
