lovely speedy, can't wait to see it with new crystal. How much is a replacement hesalite usually for a modern speedy?

$83 if you know where to look - ask @ibis888

Congrats! Nice watch, a new crystal (and of course a service if it hasn't recently had one) and you're all set!

I really like the step dial, much more character than the later dials.

I found an OEM crystal on eBay for $83 shipped... I believe that the part number is PW5139.

The DON bezel is in great shape.. I have a 145.022-69 with a 30,593,xxx serial and an original DNN bezel. The switch must have happened right after your watch was produced (or perhaps it was right in the middle of the transition period). As best as I can tell, my 30,593,xxx serial watch was made in summer to fall of 1970... so yours is probably right around the same timeframe.

+1. Had to get a couple crystals replaced by my watchmaker recently. He has an Omega parts account, they cost $85 nowadays.

$35
so the crystal costs $35 for someone with an omega parts account and $83+ on the internet for someone that doesn't?

Nice margins, but everyone has to make a living. 👍

Looks damn awesome!

Bezel is almost perfect and with a new crystal this will be one of the better looking -69STs!
I agree, that is a very nice example on one of the proper vintage bezel. Never replace this!

Congratulations I've been looking for one quite a while now and I was out drunk shopping on e bay last week and thought I bought one and I did but the wrong one, the automatic 😀 instead but I'm happy anyway that is a nice watch too.
So the hunt continues! 😀

Drunk shopping on eBay, man that's dangerous, but somehow it always creates a really awesome and humorous story. Glad your drunken eBay story lead to a speedy.

By the way, I love the Bulang & Sons straps, but was wondering if you knew of anything similar that's a bit more economical?

check out watchrecon and search for straps. there are lots of private sellers who make them, including a few members here, like @jankoxxx for example.

Very nice buy and a lovely bezel. Second only to a '68 Transitional, this is my favourite Speedmaster for regular use.

I am still shocked at how well it keeps time, I can't get over it.😀

I also regularly wear a 69 speedy and at +3 or 4 sec per day I'm also extremely happy with it!!
