I was expecting a quiet Saturday, marking Student assignments ...........until my watchmaker called me.... Was I interested in a 1956 solid 18k 2852 / 2853, Cal. 505 Constellation, with an 18k Gold Milanese DS&S Bracelet, he was selling for a customer ? As I had to collect my 145.012 anyway, ( having the original hands / crown re fitted and a DON bezel attched )......I set off After a swift 18 mile drive, in thrashing rain, in a two seater, with rear wheel drive......( one discovers the colour of adrenalin ! ) Although I am now principally focussing on Chronographs.....the upshot was, it was simply too pretty to miss,......and the condition is literally like new .......so I bought it Timekeeping is immaculate so far However......The bracelet is sadly, too small for to wear....I am a near 8 " wrist,.....and this feels like 6.5" / 7 " Not quite sure what I am going to do with it ? Pictures in the meantime, whilst I ponder....
That is very nice! I’d sell the bracelet to recoup some of your outlay; and put it on a nice black alligator strap (which will make it a bit less bling - unless of course you like the bling...)
I think STS have acquired the old DS&S lathes / machinery and are now producing Milanese bracelets......it may be possible to extend the bracelet……
That's beautiful. It would be a shame not to wear it with that bracelet, look at that buckle. I would be contacting STS and getting it extended.
Wow! What a combo! So, the question that comes to mind regarding that bracelet or one like it: Are they bespoke for the customer?
Very nice! I actually like that bracelet (for certain occasions). Surely there must be one I'm the correct size for sale floating around on the web? Or indeed have it extended, if that is possible.
The bracelet does not seem to be attached at the lugs……but bypasses to attach at the case……absolutely seamlessly & incredibly smoothly ……I fear damaging the case, to even try to swop it out……it is a task for a Master Jeweller…and no one else Who ever blended the two together originally, was a true Craftsman It appears, literally, to have been never worn....not a mark on it.....except very fine swirls
