Hi guys
I have this Wakmann, triple date chronograph, ref. 1315.3074, movement 72C.
It has been without running for a long period, inherited from daddy, now some buttons are blocked and needs to be serviced. They asked me 300€ for a complete service, for now, I am not really in love with this model, and I am planning to get it serviced and then (hopefully) sold. I could then take care of other watches I love more. Any idea of the price range for a private sale? Do you see some issues on the dial? thanks

eBay SOLD listings.

It may be more cost effective to sell it as non-running, many people prefer to have service done by their preferred provider.

I think it’s really nice chrome or not. Especially being your dads it has that history but to each his own dad would probably be fine if you used it to move to something you like better I just don’t see a lot there not to like.

thanks, I didn't know ebay sold listing option.
About selling without service, I have to decide for the specific case, when the watch is not immediately working, price is more negotiable by the bidder and for me, as not expert, is more difficult to find an agreement.

OP: This is a great price for a great all-steel example. Yours will be valued quite a bit less as it's chromed (instead of all stainless steel, it's only got a steel back). $1200-1500 would be my bet as-is.

Sorry for this dummy question: how do I understand it is chromed and not stainless? from the ref. model or it is something an expert does note by sight?

When it says « stainless steel back » it seems to be only the back. On the inner case back yours also says « base metal bezel ». So this is a clue. With older chrome cases you sometimes see the chrome flaking off near the inner lugs.

This seems about right. An all-steel, 37mm version in good condition, running well, seems to sell at prices starting just over double that (i.e. $3.2k and up). These have gone up considerably in value in recent years, and even just in the last year. These also come in a 38mm "jumbo" version, which fetches an additional premium (unless they're white-dialed, which go for the same, or equipped with sword hands, which are rarer and even more desirable/expensive).

I searched in ebay through sold listings, not many auctions of the same type of mine, but maybe 1700-1800 could be a starting price.

Is that $/£/€?

Regardless that seems slightly too high for a private seller. The value quoted further up seems more realistic
