    Hi everyone,

I am rather new to this forum but bought a few watches on OF and enjoy this space. Thank you to everyone who keeps this place going.

I very much like the Wakmann Triple Date Chronographs and now own two of them. Of course the Panda dial is attractive, and i think they represent very good value for money in a vintage market where prices have been going up rapidly for many brands.

Attached a few shots from the dialsl and the movements. The one on the left has a Valjoux 72C and the other one a Valjoux 730.

enjoy and best regards from Swtizerland,

    Stefan

the first movement picture is the wrong one, this is the V 730 of the watch on the right side. The correct V72C is this one:

My very minty V72C ... Prolly on the bubble when I start to consider pruning.

Won’t touch a good one for that anymore. I suspect I paid too much for mine but it’s very clean.

even now they are very good value. I mean a V72 based movement, panda dial and so on for reasonable money, its not going to be wrong to buy one

I am continually delighted by mine, and it got me on a whole Wakmann kick. Here's the triple date "jumbo" (Valjoux 730) and the triple-register w/a Lemania 1280 mvt. (which I call the poor man's Omega 321--apologies for the poor-quality pic).

It's worth noting that you can still get some very nice Wakmann chronos for reasonable prices, though that is changing rapidly, in part due to the growing popularity of them across the board, but of the triple-dates and "big boys" in particular. I picked up a Wakmann yachting chrono (Valjoux 7730) for less than £500 recently. So, they're out there, but going fast . . .

cool thread. these are very cool (technically and design-wise), and continue to be somewhat underrated it seems.

I used to have a Triple calendar Wakmann, too.

Absolutely great value watches and very cool to wear. I remember hearing that movement ticking loud... ::love::
