What would be the implication of Vortic removing the Hamilton name from the movements?

The whole idea is to repurpose old classic PW movements. The question is moot because they don’t legally have to. Frankly the coolness of the finished product is partly the logo of the manufacturer. I’m somewhat bewildered that someone at Hamilton thought this a good use of legal funds.

Lawyers are behind it, I'm sure.

It’s Swatch Group, and no, I’m not surprised at all.

I suspect the case will be appealed. These companies budget gobs of cash for cases like this.

The bit that struck me most in the Courts response was “any gain would come more from Hamilton’s historical significance rather than its modern-day reputation.”

Ouch.

Don’t think they will have much success. They failed to prove damage to brand or consumer confusion. Precedent is against them.

Agreed. I don't see Swatch trying to appeal this. They got their hand thoroughly smacked with this case and not very many avenues for appeal were left open to them.
