MIDO - the unsung hero of Swatch Group

I find Mido one of the most interesting brands in Swatch Group. They seems to be kinda unseen, while everyone knows Rado and Longines, but actually Mido has very well streamlined portfolio with unimstakeable design language. Their classic Commander watch is the same since the mid of the 1950-ties. And the quality is to me above their price point.
I have only one watch from Mido, but admire the brand since the first time I saw them on Basel 2011. Mine is the Commander II Chronograph:

Show your Mido's 😀

Funny as my nephew used one as a springboard into Swiss watches, and recently have been seeing a bit on Instagram from them.

Mostly being this one….. 😗

Some similarities to Nautilus couldn't be denied of course, but the TV style watches were in everyone's portfolio in the 1970-ties. Without questioning the originality of Nautilus design, it itself was released in the hey-days of this trend (1976) and do not predate it.

Just noting the talk on Instagram about the latest release 😉
Yep…..plenty of TV dials in history.

As said, Mido has some good stuff coming out and that has come out over the years.

Certina and Mido are two brands that have gained a bit of notice in Australia lately . Which is good.
