·Hi all,
Please do not smash me but I am more of a Rolex guy......
I have however decided that I need to add some more brands to my collection & I have decided on the Speedie. When I was 30 & buying my first nice watch it was between the Speedie & the Sub. I went with the Sub & the rest is history. I have however never lost that itch.
Now what I struggle with vs vintage Rolex is that the vintage Speedie is really unchanged (at least to my eye) since forever. I can buy either a new model or for slightly more a 90s Speedie (which is actually slightly more).
The "vintage models" I am looking at a 3750.50 or 3590.50. These were the last of the tritium dials so have that patina.
I have shared a photo of one of them. From an investment point of view I am not looking to make money, just not waste it. Does it make more sense to either suck it up & spend much more for an older model or a brand new model?
Thanks!
