Hello everyone,

Looking for some thoughts on this watch and whether it's a good buy.

Many thanks
Chris

You need to attach photos not links as the link will disappear in time and then the thread is pointless in the archive.

As your first post on the forum you might want to give people an incentive to invest their time and do some of the donkey work for you - Introduction to yourself, your own thoughts, what your research as found, what is your definition of a good buy? etc.

This is going to be my first omega watch and I've always liked this model. I'm always a bit worried about things being over polished but it seems ok. I wondered about the lume too and it looks like the parts the uv is shining on do seem ok.

Was wondering what everyone thought and whether it looked like a reasonable buy. It has no box or papers.

Thanks again.
Chris

Do you like that specific model or you like the funky-chunky 70’s style? If the later, there is a nice MkII in our sales section right now for less than half of what that one was.

Thank you for your comment on the price. I don't have much to compare it to other than those other watches on ebay and chrono24. It didn't think it was too bad given a lot of similar prices out there (remember it's Australian dollars so about 3000 GBP and 4000 USD). Any comments on the condition would be appreciated too.

Just as a guideline price one sold on OF earlier this year for much less than the one you are looking at

Research some prices on sold watches, not asking prices. Then come back and tell us what you found.

Thanks. I'm getting the impression this is over-priced. What I would appreciate as well are some thoughts on the condition of the watch.

The condition is very good, with the case still looking to have sharp lines and original finish. These tend to get over polished and end up looking like a massive bar of steel soap.

...because this is a new Omega service case+bracelet.... and from what I can see, they used wrong pushers, as for this case you need longer pusher necks to be screwed on the inner case...

Take your time...... do your homework. At the end of the day even if you like the watch don't let overpaying ruin your enjoyment.
