So I recently found a great 145.012 “Red Racing” but upon receipt I realized that the chrono hand doesn’t match other ones I’ve seen (drop counterweight or flat counterweight).

Has anyone insight if this could be the original chrono hand or has it been replaced?

When you say found, do you mean it's listed for sale, or that you inherited or received it? Certainly some interesting features.

“Found” isn’t the right word. I hunt for vintage speedmasters and when I find interesting ones, I buy them. This is one of those that I bought. When I got it home and started documenting its characteristics I noticed the odd chronograph which led to a lot of searching which ultimately led me a dead end and so here to ask the real experts.

Hmmm... I knew that as soon as I posted i would find an answer online. I found a picture of a different one in an auction that has the same chrono hand. It looks like it happens, just less common variant.

I'll show myself the door.
