Vintage Seamaster Help - Refinished???

Hi Everyone,

I was looking at getting this sSeamaster, but started to look closer and some details were throwing me off. The “e” and “a” in Seamaster look redone and the “M” in Omega looks off to me. Am I right to think so or am I overthinking it? Also, are these the original hands and what does it mean when they are that light green? I just wanted to get some help since I know a lot of y’all are vintage experts.

Thank you!

Also, the fact that there isn’t any “Swiss” or “Swiss Made” at the bottom leads me to believe it’s probably a redial

It’s a very poor redial. Move on. You did well by posting it here for evaluation before buying. Stick around. You’ll soon learn how to quickly separate the bad from the good.

Well spotted OP. Script is poor, minute markers line up irregularly with hour indices, and as you noted the green stuff on the dial (lume) is not right as there is no lume elsewhere on the watch- So your attention to details led you to correct conclusion.

Yep poor redial. Also look at the placement/spacing of the minute hashes and the general poor quality of the script.

Thank you for all of the feedback. I am glad that I am getting better at spotting these things and am glad that I am able to learn from everyone here. Also, thanks for pointing out the placement/spacing of the minute hashes as that is something I definitely did not notice. Looks like I am back on the hunt!

Actually I think there is more greenish lume at the ends of the dial markers, still a pretty poor redial.
