Dang, this is exactly what I've joined this forum for. My late uncle's watch was passed down to me from my mother. My uncle passed away in a plane crash in the 70s and his watch (Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000) was the only thing that was given to my grandparents from the responders. It still works, but is missing THIS bezel... Please let me know if you or anyone else knows where I can find another one.

Damn if you can hook him up I’d love to see the watch afterwards

Here's the watch. I've been scouring the internet for that bezel piece. As you can see, the bracelet is also detached, but I don't think that is a major fix. I'm trying to restore it and surprise my mom since it belonged to her only brother.

I messaged the seller to see if they happened to have any other inventory. We'll see.

Unfortunately we don’t think the bezel I sent him the link to is the correct one 🙁

It’s nice example, would be fantastic to complete it and give it back to your mom. I think the bracelet only needs a spring pin for the end.

It looks like you have the bezel ring without the insert. You might be able to get a new insert made if that route interests you. It isn’t a cheap option, but I’ve seen great results!

I'm really hoping I come across an original somewhere, but they definitely seem rare.

It would be worth asking an authorised omega service centre if the part is still available as they do still have an incredible amount of spares for their old models.

I called the Omega store in my city and the guy said that I have to send it in for servicing in order for them to quote the part. They can't just sell me a part apparently.

No, they won’t sell you the part, but it might be worth having it serviced anyway if that hasn’t been done as you could damage the movement if you run it. If you do decide to get omega to service it be sure to tell them that you don’t want the case polished, or the dial/hands changed.

I think I have someone who will service and restore it for me, but I just need that bezel insert

That might be a big “just” unfortunately.

To be clear on your options I’d make inquiries into having a repro insert made and after a period of time if you haven’t had any luck sourcing an original, sending to Omega for a quote to see if they have the bezel
Available isn’t a bad idea. If they don’t have one and/or the costs are astronomical, you can decline the service and get the watch returned. Alternatively @Archer be able to confirm whether the part is still available.

For this case, 166.0137, the bezel insert is not available. The entire bezel is, and that is part number 082ST0015.

Omega will not sell this to the OP, but if he finds an Omega certified watchmaker, they can purchase and install the bezel for him.

You want an independent watchmaker with an Omega parts account. Try googling "site: omegaforums.net watchmaker Seattle" except replace Seattle with your nearest major city. You should be able to find someone, otherwise start a new thread asking for watchmaker recommendations.

You will not find the insert , ever . Complete NOS bezel on eBay around $800. IF you find one at all....I gave you the best guy for the job before, contact him for making that insert. Or Omega for a full service and bezel. Which will cost quite a lot. Good luck!
