Had the back off again and a better pic of the movement. serial number placing it at 1959 I believe, which matches the writing on the case back too.

To conclude, very many thanks to all those that contributed and messaged me. The watch is now in the very good care of a member of this forum who will endeavour to restore it to its former glory.

The previous owner was speechless, having initially been offered 拢60 for the watch. She is going to buy some earrings which will be a nice reminder of her late husbands daily wear.
