Vintage Omega Seamaster under consideration---advice please

Hello all, I am new to the forum. I'm considering buying this 1961 Seamaster 562 cal. with Explorer dial and would appreciate your collective knowledge. I've done some initial research through the forum, and it's making me suspect that the dial may have been redone even though the seller is advertising it as an original non refurbished dial. Am I correct in thinking the OMEGA font is off or has Omega used different fonts over the years? And does the lettering appear too good for a 1961 watch? All input on the watch is very much appreciated.

Have you searched for photographs of other watches with the same case code and compared them to the one you are considering?

I think it may be more than quite similar. Is it not the same watch?

I’m a wearer, rather than an expert but it looks fine to me. Obviously, you haven’t published what the seller has told you - so nothing to raise any issues - nor the price you’re considering paying.

So, on the photos it’s in a nice condition for a 60 year old watch.

The "Coathanger S" / the font is a subject I don't know enough about to give a definate answer.

To me the dial with it's patina looks genuine, the crown is wrong IMO

The movement seems to be quite dirty so you should keep some money for a service.

What is the asking price?

@El Mago is that your watch?

It's only an "Explorer" dial if it's on a Rolex, on an Omega it's just a dial with a few numerals. 🙄

As noted above by hoi, the patina looks right but I can't help but think the Omega font is too late for the watch, it looks like that seen on recent service dials for 60s watches.

Something with the printing of automatic also doesn’t sit right with me. Especially the A‘s and T‘s seem tilted to the right compared to the other letters.

Cheers,
Max
