Connie under consideration, what gives this away as a redial?

Hi team, I'm starting with the assumption that any black Constellation is a redial, as has been suggested repeatedly here and elsewhere. AND, this one looks pretty good at first glance. So could our experts please weigh in as to what gives it away (one way or another)? These are the best pics I can get for now. Love me some lessons as to what to look for...

Hi mate.

I wouldn't say that this looks good at first glance, as straight off you should be able to notice that the seconds track has too long hashes. Looking closer and you'll find that "ChronometRE" has been replaced with "ChronometER" which is for newer references and the "swiss made" has an odd font.

Ive always thought the "'ChronometRE"' was retained in euro markets?

No it was not, we got "chronometer" too

According to Desmond's research, Omega used ChronometER instead of ChronometRE on some early 500's. This is not common but it would acceptable for a 2852.

The second track markers look a bit long but I would not discard it just based on that. You should ask for better pics

It is a redial based on that alone.

Straight away that minute track looks all wrong.

and both "n's" in Constellation should be different from each other.

Do you know what a galvanically finished dial is? IMO, this is perhaps one of the easiest tells for black redials once you train your eye to identify them.

This dial is pretty clearly made by painting the dial base a matte black (which is the incorrect finish) and then using gold-colored print on top of it. True black dials will have true metallic script, and will not exhibit the graininess that metallic paints always do.

I can see aging and oxidation on the "OMEGA" and star which under a loup I am sure would not match the perfect nature of the rest of the dial.
