So I'm getting this vintage beauty back from service, and were wondering if anyone could tell me some more about this dual ref? I know the ref is a geneve with cal. 1220? My was only has one ref. number visible. would like to know more about the story around it

I'm not sure what's going on. A 198 means Gents Watch/Electronic/Water Resistant Chronometer Calendar and this is what the Omega Vintage Database shows.

There are currently two watches like your for sale on eBay from a seller in Ecuador, neither appear to be correct 198.0068s.

In answer to your question, I can't explain the anomalies with your watch, other than something is not quite right.

Beauty is clearly in the eye of the beholder.
