Vintage Omega // Original or not? // first acquisition

Hello everybody!

I recently decided to dabble in the world of Omega, and vintage watches. I have decided to start a collection of these spectacular watches.

In this way, I am about to acquire my first watch, but I have doubts about its originality, since the owner does not know his model, and I only have a couple of pictures.

From what I have researched, it must be an Omega within the 50' to 59', and I think it may be a model like the 2901 or 2902. But I'm not sure. At least the lettering looks correct, just like it says "swiss made" below. Still I have my doubts about the hands, as I have not seen this type.

Thank you very much for your help, and also, to be able to start in this search of a new collection.

As you noted, the photos are not the best. What I can see is a lot of dial damage and the top of the lugs look pretty polished. You didn't mention price but I would pass unless you can get better photos, including the movement.

Hi! Thanks for your feedback. The price is €160. I will try to get better pictures of the front, and I will back.

So, I asked for another photo, and got this one. He doesn't know how to open the watch and see the movements.

And well, now you can see the damage on the glass.

The condition is quite poor. Dial damage, bad brassing on the lugs. Although the watch is cheap, I'm not sure it's the best use of your money. Would you really want to pay to have it serviced and a new crystal?

Hi Dan, thanks for the feedback.

I think it's clear, with what it costs, plus service and a new crystal, I could get one in good condition. And save me all the hassle.
