hello snick,,serial #9521611 ,this watch have the omega movement caliber 23.4 T1 SC ,,THE SIGNIFICATE CENTRE SWEEP ,,I THINK WAS THE FIRST ONE CENTRE SWEEP REFERENT TO OMEGA WATCHES.I think the Neptune's pitchfork style hand was supposed to signify that this model was supposed to be "waterproof", or at least as close as they could get in those days. Sort of an earlier form of Seamaster. old Omega Medicus/neptune's trident on legendary movement 23.4 SC. It is legendary because it is first movement with center second in Omega Manufacture history. It comes from 1935 - 1938. The name of this model: Medicus came from the fact it was very expensive model becouse of new movement with center seconds and waterproof / water resistant case. Only doctors and other wealthy people could afford for it.
The movement, cal. 23.4 SC on 15 jewels with characteristic big jewel on the pin of the balance wheel. After servicing in great condition.

Thank you for this great forum and participants. I have heard from mac_omega responding to my questions about my dads watch. However, I could do with more info about possible value. I was advised to share the watch between myself and my two sisters but even if they wanted to - which they don't - the distance between us makes it a non starter. We all think that selling is for the best but we need to have an idea of its value. If I want to keep it I need to have an idea of what to give my sisters as their share. Any advice is welcome

Sorry, but no. Sweep second hand to make it easier for doctors and nurses to time your heartbeats to take your pulse. Small seconds are only useful to tell whether your watch is running and not much else.

The trident hand was also used on sub-seconds watches.
