I'm looking to see if anyone can provide me a little help in figuring out more information about this watch. It was my grandfather's watch that was passed down to me. Back in 2017 I had it serviced by Omega but they were unable to do the Extraction of Archives, the boutique said it might have been due to a loss of some records due to a fire a few years ago? The information they were able to provide me was the following Caliber: 1332 Case Reference Number: 196.0175 I can get more pictures tonight if that would be of any help. Thanks!
Priceless to you no doubt due to the connection with your grandfather but otherwise not a particularly exciting model I am sorry to say. Quartz movement full 14K gold with fixed bracelet from Omega's dark ages of the early 1980s. Would likely fetch only a little more than the (not inconsiderable) scrap gold value at sale, but that would still be well into 4 figures. I am sorry for the rather pessimistic appraisal but its a reality that this kind of watch is not hugely in favour with collectors or buyers.
Thanks! Yeah, definitely way more sentimental value to me than anything. I guess I was hoping to find a little more out about the model, year of manufacture, etc. Basically all I can know is that (from the dial) it is a Constellation and the service gave me a Caliber and Case Reference Number. My main issue is that when I try to even search on Omega's website I get a grand total of nada. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Not my area of interest although it's a nice memento. You might find some information here: http://www.old-omegas.com/ Possibly in this catalogue? http://www.old-omegas.com/prestonuk81.html Good luck, Chris
