Just found this blog.
For interest I have an actual CK2144 watch, sub-seconds, R17.8 movement interestingly with the letter 'M' stamped on the barrel bridge, "chronometre" on the dial and confirmed via the archive extract that it was issued with a Bulletin de Marche, sold to the RAF in April 1942, it has a waterproof screwback case, and above the serial number engraved on the case back are the letters AM (Air Ministry).
Movement no. 9339968. Case no. 10105156. Inside case back 1089. Number 3 stamped on one strap lug. Back of dial Lemrich 625.
Hope this helps.
Bill.

I have sent you a private message.

I am afraid but do not think quotations are the focus of this forum.

i understand however I have had various offers on the watch and do not want to make a mistakle born of ignorance.

Then I suggest you let us know your location (country only) and show the offers so we can comment.

e.g.:

Offer 1 - USD$999.99
Offer 2 - USD$999.99

etc etc

I am in South Africa (Cape Town).

The highest offer I have received is $3200.00.

I would guess that the local market would be limited and I have no wish to interfere in any offer you may have received from our forum, but if there is interest in the watch I'd suggest consigning it to an auction house (Bonhams/Christies etc).

Be aware that auction house fees are substantial, as are the additional costs a buyer has to bear, so maybe taking a good cash offer would be one way to go.

Best of luck whatever you decide

This is a very difficult watch to value, as the model appears so rarely on the market. A good example of a more typical and easily found Omega 30T2g Chronometre would probably be worth more, as there would be greater demand. The subject watch is likely to be of interest mainly to dedicated collectors, and that is a relatively small group.
