175 pages of WRUW (of over 4000) and can't find the one I wanted!
He did wear it a few other days.
The one shot made my wife touch herself!

After all this work you guys owe me a great deal on a great watch!

Beautiful watch for sure...as far as the great deal... "Take this quarter, go downtown, and have a rat gnaw that thing off your face! Good day to you, madam." 馃嵖

Hey,
"Take this quarter, go downtown, and have a rat gnaw that thing off your face! Good day to you, madam."
I remember that!

The shot I was looking for, he had on a blue patterned shirt, with cufflinks of course, and the lighting was brighter.
Wish I could find it.

I got the back off last night and the movement is as I thought. I guess the reference number is 87580.

Nothing to add. Absolutely amazing. Which year was it released by JlC?

Hi Jim. Thanks for the fan mail 馃榾 I still have the Master Moon, it's in for service at the moment.

That Master Mariner is very nice, especially with box and papers. The movement serial no. looks like it's a 1,207,xxx number, which would place it as a 1957 movement. So the watch itself probably dates from a year or two after that.

I don't think 87580 is the model or case ref no. Those were usually 4 digit numbers (often for snap back cases) or an E plus 3 digits - you might find it on the papers in the box. I've never been able to work out what those 87580 style numbers are...

Thanks for this info. It sort of confirms the late '50s date I was thinking.

I think it's a case serial number, but it could be a Longines-Wittnauer style number. I would need to see another identical watch.

Just a dumb question but what did Longines-Wittnauer have to do with this. This watch was distributed in the US by Vacheron Constantin and made buy Jaeger LeCoultre....I have not seen any L-W connection. Educate me.
