Would I be able to find a decent piece for that kind of money?
Well I wouldn’t value mine much beyond that price, so if you’re after a v23 with a steel case and waterproof pushers I think it should be quite easy.

I’ll look around for a piece in better condition then. Thanks for letting me know.

For that price, I think you can get something much nicer. But if you really want a Heuer for some reason, your options will be more limited. What is the size of the case? I would expect a jumbo for that asking price.

Also, if you’re not dead set on an older model, you could just about pick up a sixties carrera for this kind of money. Something like a 2448s or a basic 3647 shouldn’t be a whole lot more.

Case diameter is 35mm and L2L 42mm.

Really not dead set on this model, recently started digging into vintage heuers and thought it was a cool piece.
Thanks for the tip about those models mentioned above. Will take them into consideration for my next purchase

Given the size and condition, I think you would be paying a huge premium for the Heuer name at that asking price. Personally I don't put such a premium on that name, but some people might.

Yeah for that price you could be in two register Camaro territory. If the cushion case isn’t to your taste, add a bit more and you’re into a silver dial 3647 Carrera

I’ve been looking at some vintage carreras and camaros as some of you guys have recommended. I stumbled upon this camaro 7743N with serial 118xxx for what seems like a good price 2950€. What do you guys think?

It’s looks correct however I don’t find it particularly attractive.

Black dial Camaros generally have a slight brown tint and the nice yellow lume plots really make the dial pop. This dial/lume looks a bit tired and dry.

Camaros aren’t hugely common and you often cannot find a good one instantly, it takes a bit of patience for the right one to emerge.

Then again, it’s not that expensive and if the seller is open to an offer it may be good way for a cheap and correct Camaro. A relume would likely help matters significantly

Thanks for the input!
Any idea what a decent camaro would cost? 4.500€?
Have never relumed a watch, would a decent watchmaker be able to do it?

Asking how much a decent Camaro costs is kinda like asking how much a decent vintage Speedy costs.

You’re looking at at least £2500 GBP for anything remotely decent. Two register silver dials are the most affordable rising up to probably £4000-5000 for a nice V72 3 register version, then £6000-8000 I would think for an exotic dial.

Again though, although I think you could get a nice Camaro for £2500, possibly a bit more, I also think this would take some time due to the relatively low numbers for sale at a given time.

If you’re considering a Camaro it might be worth starting a new thread as many of the Camaro faithful won’t necessarily open the thread given your original title.

Haha yeah, I was asking cause there is a large difference in price depending on condition etc. So basically if your lucky and patient, you'll be able to find a decent one at low price.

Good shout! Haven't found many threads about Camaros or Carreras here for that matter

Id aim for a fair price rather than low.

Im not sure there’s an up to date Camaro price guide but I think £2500-3000 should be achievable for a two register silver dial without bracelet.

One option is to put on eBay at $1 and find out the market.

i would bet not many members will respond to such a question.

I could be wrong

Yes If you put a reserve on your listing.

I think any Heuer expert could give a approximate on it’s worth.
