Dear OFM’s,

I found a Heuer that I’m interested in buying but are a little hesitant and would like to hear your opinions based on the pictures I got from the seller. I know for a fact that its relumed, but would that affect the value a lot? would it be worth buying it?

Thanks in advance.

Your question is better answered if we know the asking price.

I'm in at USD $10 out at $1,000,000.

Did you seek an all original watch other than the lume?

I really like these steel cased Heuers with the “waterproof” pushers, but as TexOmega says it’s completely price sensitive. I bought mine with hands requiring a relume but it doesn’t bother me at all.

I perceive a thicker outline and font at the shield in the OP's pix than the above, which is sharp, precise and elegant.

Could be the less than ideal pix the OP posted.

There’s a relume and a relume.

While any relume will stop a piece being excellent, a good job (ie Mr Hyman) can elevate an other poor dial, and still allow a decent price.
On the other hand a poor job (such as in the OP) reduces the value as it’s unattractive and 1) it will need to go away again to be redone well, 2) redoing it may damage the dial depending how well stuck on it is.

Can you get some better pictures? I’d like to get a better look at the dial as well.

Thanks for all the answers - as for the asking price, around 3250 €.

This is all the pictures I got from the seller, but I’ll ask for better pictures. I’ll post them here when I get them.

Based on the pics provided, it’s poorly relumed. How much would it be worth according to you?

I would prefer an all original watch other than the lume, yes. Another question I have - would it be a bad idea to replace the dial with another one?

Would I be able to find a decent piece for that kind of money?

I can’t help you with the value of this specific watch as it’s outside my knowledge area. My comment was more how a good/bad relume impact value within the known value range of a watch
