Steven here... Looking at this Heuer on ebay.... In all the searches i have done I cannot find this exact dial anywhere.
Do you guys think its original, or a redial.
Thank you
Steven

Tritium? Curious.

This looks suspicious to me, too.

I am not a Heuer expert, but this looks like a redial. I'd certainly avoid it.

I questioned the swiss made T. And the small subdials. What don't you like in the movement
Thank you Steve

The wear on the valuable piece compared to the wear on the rest of the movement.

My inital reaction was Franken. Especially since I have a similar rusty Val-72 Heuer that I am sourcing parts for.

This also looks to be a Val-22 and not the more desirable Val-23. The Val-22 is a large movement at 14L. Almost a pocket watch or sports timer. Not sure if the case SN should match the movement.

The bridge in mine is not signed. The case I have in the Val-72 is missing the back, so the dial is the only thing that suggest it is a Heuer. The case though does have the right look to it. I suspect back in the late 1930s early 1940s there was not as much emphasis on brand loyalty.

Note that the same people who run this forum also run the Tag Heuer forums. Your username and password works there also.

This watch is not a TAG (Techniques avant Garde) Heuer. Its age tells me it was produced by Heuer before they were bought out by TAG. Unless you can find a 50+ year old HEUER catalog, you won’t find a listing.

I spent the better part of an hour on that site, and none of them look like the one in question

Correct.
We recommend: don't buy.
