This is my first post so please be gentle, mistakes may be made so I offer my apologies in advance if I do err.

I am currently helping to clear my mothers accumulation of stuff from her parents and also some of my fathers that have been stored away for too long and as is often the case a few watches and odds and sods have turned up that I need some help with.

The watch in question is a manual wind circa 1950's with the name " Greville " on the dial, also says " superb jeweled
" shockproof " & " anti magnetic "
It has a fancy dial with horizontal numerals 3 & 9.
I have taken the back off but there are no markings on the movement nor inside the case to help identify it.
From researching the web I have found a couple of other Grevilles but images are all I have and no further information.
Any info will be appreciated even if you tell me to put it back in the box and to use my time in a better way ( pun intended )

Thanks for a decent first post, it's better than some of the "how much can I sell this for" entries.

Unfortunately, the amazing Greville is just a "budget brand", probably sold by a local or regional company. The movement is very basic (7 jewels) and the most delicate part, the hairspring, has been mangled and therefore, any value in a "running watch" is negligible.

Never mind, just put it back in the box and use your time to enjoy other pursuits.

Cheers
Jim

I see why your dad would have worn it, it is a very cool looking dial

I have to agree with you that the dial has good eye appeal, shame about the rest.
If by any chance someone posts another of these watches as a project I would be happy to let them have it Gratis for the dial alone.
Chances are slim but you never know.
Cheers
