-> check for a dress-watch: gold-(en) case, low(-er) water restistance, striking- ("sparkling") dial (here: onyx-inlays at this model?), leather strap, no complete lume - less readable in darkness,
end check <-

The list above does not contradict the possibility of wearing this watch daily and everywhere.

Dont listen to these negative nancy's. These Geneve's are not that popular amongst collectors for some reason, but that is a beautiful watch with what is said to be Omegas best movement 565. Find a good watch maker and get it serviced and you will have years of enyoment from this watch. Do not touch that dial its got patina and charm. My Geneve says hello, do not mind the scratches.
Thanks for your reply, really excited to get my hands on it tomorrow. I agree, Geneve aren’t as popular but I love this vintage, classy and simple look the have. Glad to hear that 565 movement is good, did you have a hard time getting it for service? Thanks for the dial tip, wont get it touched haha. Love your watch! Very fancy vintage look, might be my next add haha

Once you get it, I’d be interested to see much sharper photos of the dial.

In your position, I’d wear it for a while to see how it runs before sending it out for service.

If there are any scratches on the crystal, buy a tube of Polywatch and rub them out. You can check if the crystal is original by looking carefully to see if there’s an Omega logo etched in the centre. Nice if it is but if it ever needs replacing, a generic crystal is only about $10?

Don't treat it as waterproof - more splash proof - so take it off if you’re showering or washing up.

The 565 really is ultra reliable and easy to service with parts readily available and you advance the date by pulling the crown two notches and pushing it in. To alter the time pull the crown one notch.

Post where you’re located and someone will recommend a fairly local watchmaker although many of us now send and receive our watches by insured mail.
