    Hello,
After owning two modern Seamasters, I'm looking to purchase a vintage model. A person local to me has this one for sale. He's asking $850 for it. I've done some searching on it but I have not seen one quite like this one. Also, the case does not have the seahorse on it. Any observations from the experts would be appreciated. Thank you!

Maybe a 166.0213.1 with a polished or non-omega caseback. Based on the pic from the Omega data base it should have an integrated bracelet and a press-in caseback, yours looks like a screw-in type. Nice 1170 bracelet though.

    kind regards Max

850$ is a joke for it, 450 is the max for this type of Watch. I would search for something else.

I kind of agree, 850$ is high, but it's running perfectly and with a black dial I would go around 550$ max. After those are not the most desirable, take that in count if you ever wish to resell in the future.

Case reference 198.0064 seems to be for a Megasonic with a caliber 1230. So it appears that the movement with refinished dial as been transplanted into this case.

The watch has been put together from unrelated parts, worth zero to anyone who cares about originality.

To put it more simply, it's a piece of shit.
