·Hi everyone,
Sometimes you have to learn the hard way. I am happy with my 145.022-71ST purchase (price, condition and newer looking state) - as I knew and wanted a more pristine look of the case. That said - some internet’s info wasn’t as correct as it could have been (shocker!) which combined with my intensity and inexperience - led to some missed items.
The first was the bezel - which I thought was correct and was not (thanks Fratello). After more research I discovered the bracelet was also not what it could have been - and finally - that I wanted to replace the original dial and hands the previous owner kept after the servicing - once confirming they were in solid condition (at least the dial - the hands vary).
The first pic is the original watch as I got it from the previous owner - and the last as it is now. Please do let me know if I am again missing anything else lol (case back etc) for a lack of vintage authenticity/restoration...
I wanted to show the final pics as I worked in getting it properly restored and thank those on Omega Forums for all of their help (many of you know who you are) - it really is a fantastic site - one of the best for watch knowledge!
I recognize this is not an Ed White - but it does have significance for me and I am pleased with the results...
Thank-you all again for your help, experience and knowledge - Cheers!
