I love mine. It’s just about the perfect all occasion watch. And so distinctive. Nothing else looks like it. Although the new model has superior technology, the 2012-2017 version has the best aesthetics IMHO.

Mine has a white background behind the date? Had it for ten years plus and still looking brand new. Never take it off. Great piece.

We have all three in our house. Smooth dial is the prettiest...just not the most iconic. New wave growing on me, in black & white it looks a little less toy-ish. On the bezel, I do not understand the move from chromium nitride to enamel...other than higher contrast. Chromium and ceramic are much more durable. Subdued visibility is a less garish look to me, plus I can't damage it as easily. I love this one and eventually bought it just before the stock of brand new smooth dial, chromium nitride bezel inlay dried up around here.

I felt the SMP 300 ...212.30.41.20.03.001 was a bit fancy because of the bracelet and open hands. I picked up a Tudor Black Bay 58. . It fits very well on my 6.5 wrist. and I know always know the date since it does not have a date and I remeber the date every day now. I gave the SMP to my son. That seemed like a better idea than loosing $1500 with a trade in (only lost $4000 this way Duh), I really miss the SMP, but he has agreed to share it with me. Now he wants me to buy a Rolex Sub we can share. Great idea, for him

Great review & thread, this has definitely fueled my recent obsession/fascination with the SMPc in blue :D now how do I sneak one into the house without the eagle eyed missus noticing!

 Great review. I really like the blue and I'm glad this generation of Seamasters didnt incorporate the wave design on the bezel. It makes this gen very clean and unique. Definately a standout while keeping a thin profile.
Pair this with the 2500D and youve got a champ!

I'm a little proud to say that, in all honesty, I have no idea what " a bit instagrammed" might mean.:):)

I watched the video only now... my bad! Now i regret not pulling the trigger on this seamaster! I prefer it over the current "cupcake" version!

Will the ceramic bezel from this fit the earlier Seamaster Pro, mines from 1999.
