It means they don't have to really. And you completely missed my point. It's a trivial thing to have bracelets made and end-links to suit. Omega chose not to. They chose a cheaper option and charge more for it to boot. I don't know, maybe mesh bracelets are really expensive.
Good quality mesh bracelets are expensive to make because you're dealing with a weave pattern you want to be even, precise, plus have flexibility. When one little weave which is off is immediately noticed. Also comes down to the thickness of the mesh. Staib is one of the high end mesh bracelets as they are worth it compared to lesser quality ones.
That being said, a comparable mesh bracelet without the Omega logo is around a third of the price. And if Omega put a ton of money into the R&D for the clasp design, they got fleeced on that.
Honestly, think they went to the same factories which are producing said mesh bracelets for others (which is not in Switzerland but a little further east) used the existing ones and tried to retro-fit the clasp to "fit" which is why you don't have a micro-adjust, only the holes spaced like a regular leather bracelet. In other words, the went the cheapest route possible and put the normal Omega branding up charge.
If I am wrong, I will be the first to admit it and apologize to Omega in person.

Agree. I think it was lazily done. The best way I can sum it up is it's well made, but not well designed.
I would riot if they dropped the iconic Bond bracelet from the standard model SMP. There would be no reasoning with me.
It's nice, but all they are doing is providing new colorways and mixed metals on a base design that has been around for a couple of decades. I don't know how excited the average person is going to get about that.
But then again, I own a Globemaster, which seems like a generally unloved entry in the Omega stable.

L LOOTI am not really a watch guy. In fact, I've never worn a watch in my 56 years, let alone buy one. I know nothing of them other than a couple of brands.
I was in downtown St Thomas over the holidays and found myself at the watch boutiques. Breitling, Omega, Rolex, Patek, Hublot, etc.
Studied them all but I really fancied the Omega Bond 60th in SS and the brown Ti one....especially the brown on the mesh because of the weight. I'm not a Bond fand tho and really don't care for gimmicky branding but both pieces were very nice.
I managed to walk away without buying. I spent a couple days thinking about the Omegas and finally went back. They had gotten a new shipment the day prior. I absolutely fell in love with the Green/Bronze and eventually bought it right out of the vault. The color combo is beautiful. In dim light, the green presents as black to my eye. The bronze is warmer than gold which suits me too. For me, on Day 7 or so of my journey, this watch is just about perfect. So, the big question is, do I dive farther down the watch rabbit hole or just continue on in my ignorant bliss?
Better for your wallet and mental heath to be blissfully ignorant but way more fun to go down the rabbit hole.
