Adding my 2 cents, and using some footage Trev took of the ST1 that looks amazing too.

One correction, the 50th LE is an enamel dial while the new reverse panda is a black lacquer with layers of enamel paint

I need ONE Speedy, let alone multiple... not sure I could start the collection off with an ST1...

Dropped by the local OB and tried it on. Definitely a nice dial and more on the bling side, well done overall. Is it worth the extra bucks? Finding it hard to justify the extra price for what you're getting. Still prefer the blue dial on my Gemini IV 40th Anniversary but it's a personal preference.

Also another thing I noticed was the legibility of the hands or lack thereof. It's the same with my blue reverse panda dial, the rhodium hands and applied markers, which match the esthetics of the watch, make it harder to read in different lighting.

Not a deal breaker but more an observation to be cognizant of this if purchasing one. Notice it on my blue reverse panda dial and don't see it being any different.

Hello all,

Having the opportunity to buy a Speedy Tuesday at a good price, I'm wondering whether I should buy this new one or the Speedy Tuesday.

The Speedy Tuesday in question has never been serviced, so if I buy it, I'll have to get it serviced. In total, it would cost me €800 less than this new one.

The new one has the advantage of a sapphire crystal and the 3861 movement, and also the pleasure of owning a brand-new watch.

The Speedy Tuesday has a more distinctive character (in my opinion) and is also a limited edition.

I'm a bit lost and I need to decide quickly ... thanks in advance for your advice!

ST1 100%. I can’t see why anybody would choose the alternative.

You are probably right 😅
Or not. It is simply a matter of taste. If you think objectively you would take the last one with the better movement. If you like lume the previous version is better.

But in matter of aesthetics both are really different. The new one is really shiny with lacquer and ceramic and polished bevels. The other one is matte, with no polish on the case.

with no polish on the case.

Also the hands, the pushers, and the crown.

Logo on the dial and the crown are polished, though.

It is ultimately your choice. But for me, ST1 is nicer and has more prestige about it.

Of course, and thank you for your reply! I simply wanted to know what others thought because unfortunately I have to make a choice 😌

Life would be much easier if we could just have all of the watches we lust over but alas… money!

....which some of the Japan Olympic models were guilty of being (Apollo 11 35th / Gemini 4)
The product development team dropped the ball on those, that should have never been allowed.

One other blunder was the limited edition numbered Speedmaster from the 80s, it was 500. Only to release a second set of 500 a couple years later. Mine is from the first 500.
