in the Fratello video it is discussed that this crystal is similar to the new FOIS (hesalite style), but from the pictures, I can't see it and Omega's website is not providing any information on this. If someone has a closeup today, please have a look whether this point stands or not.

It's nice, a lot nicer than my mind imagined. I'll need to go and see it in the flesh to get a true feeling for it, and whether I'd go for something like this over the standard 3861 SS.

In their specifications they write that the domed sapphire is only on the gold. To the best of my knowledge Omega's webiste doesn't differentiate on the crystal description between the two models.

That would be such a cheap move considering the fois has it and it is cheaper.

I'll be interested to see if that's the case once more people get their hands on both watches. I can't imagine Fratello getting it wrong, but stranger things have happened.

You can just tell from the video and photos that the crystals on both are not like the FOIS’s domed crystal

And are there now more gold speedmasters than steel? $50k speedmasters feels like my best friend from childhood won the lottery and moved into a gated community so now we never see each other. We might bump into each other occasionally and promise to get together but both know it'll never happen.

Finally, a proper modern version of the Speedmaster in stainless steel and black dial. And it’s a reverse panda!!! To me this watch is a home run and ticks every box where I felt the current Speedmaster was dull and cheap. I think I’m a buyer.
