You have a typo on the thread title and I was worried that someone got a very bad redial ::facepalm1::

It seems like a redial, but at least this one does not have any typos!!!

the case is quite polished and high chance a redial if not a completely aftermarket dial. need more closeup dial pics and movement

The case is correct for Ref. 2930. This watch is not the same as the Ref. 2853 DeLuxe Constellation. Please see this caseback for comparison.

Dial might be OK also. The pictures are just not good enough to tell for sure.

The case has been heavily polished, that is pretty obvious from the pictures. There was also a brick work bracelet that came with this watch that was probably scrapped for gold content years ago.

You might want to read this thread:

Hope this helps,

The inscriptions inside the case back are asymmetrical and the triangle has distorted lines. That seems wrong to me, but again I am a noob!

I disagree. It’s all in the angle, lighting and maybe the polishing.

The case serial numbers are only 16 apart.

The triangles and text inside 18k case backs are often (quite badly) distorted.
This may seem odd because these were the most valuable watches that Omega produced at the time - so it must have been some kind of manufacturing issue that they couldn’t control (or else Omega didn’t care as it was inside - but that doesn’t make much sense given the attention they lavished on the movements and on these watches generally. )

my 18k 14382 (deluxe) case back for reference - looks like a child did it but I assure you that it is correct.

Good to hear it’s legit, but really surprised that Omega was that sloppy 😲

Omega didn’t make the watch case. Most watch companies had contractors make them back then.

But quality control could have been better. Remember that most consumers did not open the back of watches. You had competent repair people at every jeweler.

My two 18K case backs

My Jan 1962 yellow gold 14381, also hallmarked in Ireland with Irish 1962 hallmarks all over the Constellation medallion to comply with import regs at that time ( confirmed by EofA)

And my 18K rose gold dog leg 168.005/6 from 1966, sent to Angola

I know that they subcontracted the cases, in some countries they made them locally mainly to avoid taxes on precious metals. I guess nobody cares that much about the inside of casebacks, but I cannot imagine a luxury watch nowadays with such sloppy work.

I’ve seen all the examples above but I still believe OP’s case back is another level of «sloppiness »... with Rolex it happens exactly the same on some documented cases and they are considered original... it is incoherent to say the least but I guess it’s up to the collectors community to say the verdict 👍
