What does that mean? I see what you’re referencing but have no idea (except refinished?) as to why it wouldn’t be there...

Even before spotting the missing marker I wasn’t 100% convinced by the fonts. That along with the unusual dial colour (for non de Luxe model) makes me suspicious. It’s one of those you need to see up close with a loupe to make a better judgment. Just my opinion so take for what it’s worth, others may disagree!
Have you checked with a loupe to see if the dot is actually there? It could be tucked away under the point of the arrowhead.
I did indeed and it’s not there at all. Do you suspect a counterfeit or ??? I’m not sure what to look for in the script. My neighbor would take it back in a second if It had a problem (well, we’re friends too) and he’s had it for 23 years before I bought it. Please give me your professional opinion.
Thanks so much for all the help!
@jh102 can you please clarify whether your dial has a golden colour? Or is it silvered? You never said in your own words.
The question is relevant because if the dial is gold, this combination of dial and case would be very unusual. And I am curious and want to learn... 😀 From your pics one would think that it's a gold dial. But pics are deceiving. To demonstrate that I'll post an auction photo. You would think that watch has a gold dial, but it's actually silver:
Btw, I am by no means an expert, but I wouldn't be too worried about the missing dot at 7. If it were a redial (which I don't believe it is), whoever made it would not have missed that dot, he's so good.
That dot might fall off during a lacquer cleaning process. I guess.
I have a stunning waffle dial Seamaster that’s was cleaned prior to my purchase, All the lettering and minute marks remained but it lost the lume and the Swiss Made...it happens. Breathe on the dial
Wrong and the appliqué will migrate back to Switzerland.
Integrated bracelets like this were usually part of an original watch and would be sized by the seller on purchase. Unless you are very lucky it could be too short, or too long even with the three adjustments. It could be shortened but would add to the already eye watering cost.
Save yourself a $1000 and get a couple of quality leather straps.
I think the whole thing is fine. I suppose it is just possible that the dial might for some reason have become sufficiently damaged to need redoing despite the exceptional condition of everything else, but that seems unlikely. Many gold watch owners reserved them for special occasions and took particular care of them because of their high value, which I think is what's happened here. All is "of a piece" and IMO untouched. A stunning purchase.
The argument "pie pan or not pie pan" has been aired on here more than once. Who gives a damn when a watch is as nice as this one.
