Just idly surfing Constellations on Ebay and came across this one. Anbody know what reference it is ?

What's confusing me is that from the picture of the back it appears to me to be a monocoque case but the only Constellation monocoques that I can find (167.015, 168.015, 168.025 etc) are C shaped cases.

I not planning to buy it - just academic interest

That is a fake one. Looks like some kind of frankened Seamaster De Ville or something similar.

That is what I was wondering. I bought my son a Seamaster DeVille, pictured below, last year for his 21st. The watch in question looks identical except for the Constellation dial. Is there any chance that there was a rare Constellation version using this case ?

The seller only forgot to mention that he is a complete BS artist and that his grandfather must have lived in Mumbai

Thanks for a laugh. That's one 'connie' you'd best avoid. It's not

You have to be careful these days. It's quite possible that his grandfather did live in Mumbai.

Do you think the dial is from a genuine Constellation ?. I haven't seen markers exactly like that but the font looks reasonable to my untrained eye

Jeez, that dial is real ugly, nothing like an original.

Thanks for all the comments on this. I am still puzzled by the case though. If it were a Seamaster case with some kind of franken Constellation dial fitted it would have the seamonster embossed on the back but this case has a constellation observatory ? Was there any Constellation reference that used a case of this type ?

Surely nobody would go to the trouble of machining off a seamaster logo and somehow bonding a Constellation one in its place ?

The lugs on yours are angled and the way they are attached longs much nicer, I don't think the original watch case is omega, out looks like someone just glued a constellation medallion on a fake. Those markers are deffinetly not omega. The printing and furniture is horrible.

The Constellation medallion can sometimes fall off its case and could be easily attached to the back of a Deville case. While there are other vintage Constellation models still unknown to the world, the one you found in no way can be one, especially with that repainted dial.

The one bellow is a more credible candidate, but there's no way to verify it since the seller refuses to provide internal pictures. At least the dial is a genuine one. (Note that this seller also has a well-known fake gold Connie on sale for a while.)
