Verifying Authenticity - Seamaster 300M (2013)

Thanks in advance for any help. And sorry if this is not considered vintage - I didn't know what forum this was best placed under. TL;DR: watch price seems to good to be true.

Found this for sale on Facebook. More pictures can be seen here. The seller seems to be putting off good vibes (good communication, FB page appears legit and active - married local couple, not some bot) and from inspecting these pictures, everything checks out to my eye (which is not saying much, I have a 2021 300m in blue, but no other hands on Omega experience other than brief shopping in ADs in the past year).

Only problem is the price. Agreed on a price about 2/3 of the cheapest listing on Chrono24. Brings up that old adage "if it sounds to good to be true..."

I would love your help in what to look for when I go view it in person, or anything in these photos that is problematic.

Don't be vague, what is the asking price? I ask since the prices on C24 are not realistic and not a useful tool for pricing watches for sale amongst private parties. It might not actually be too cheap to be for real. Have you looked at ebay sold listings? Those are more realistic. The chubby calf in the pic would put me off, why do people do that?

We agreed on $2,000.

Not familiar with using Ebay sold listings. Just gave it a try, don't know if I'm looking at it wrong (if they actually sold for an amount lower than what it shows on the listing price) but the lowest of those are still quite a bit higher.

Haha, and yeah I always wonder why some people don't clear out the background of their photos on listings like these...

Hmm well yes that is low for one of those, you have a point. I was just checking since C24 jokers often ask pipe dream prices like double the market value. This one might be a screaming good deal or as you suspect something more dodgy. I'd see that as a $2,500 minimum watch personally if in good condition, maybe more like $2,750 on a good day. It is worth checking out if it is local, nothing in the pics looks fake, though obviously be on your guard.

My thoughts exactly. I wasn't at all in the market for a 2nd Seamaster, I just saw it come across as such a good deal I had to take a look. If I did buy it I'd probably wear it for a month or two and then list it to try to turn a profit.

Thanks for the opinion. I'll try to do my best to microanalyze it in person, I just have no expertise here. Currently Googling as many photos of that reference number as I can to hopefully be able to compare when I'm up close.

It's the price that makes me suspicious...and the leg and toenails were seriously off-putting. Maybe it really is a heck of a deal, proceed with an abundance of caution.

The one thing that seems weird to me is - the white rubber strap.

Did Omega ever produce a white rubber strap? I can't find any indication of such through Google searches.

Obviously one aftermarket accessory doesn't mean it's a fake... But it has the Omega logo on it. If they have one fake accessory, the rest might be more likely to be a fake.

That is an aftermarket Zealande strap with an omega buckle. In this pic you can see the additional (removed) Zealande buckle.

Ah okay that makes sense - they just robbed the buckle from the authentic black one and put it on a Zealande buckle. I was looking at the other photo. Thanks!
