Hello i bought this watch from Chrono24 (see attached pics) & went to the local swatch service center. I was told that while the watch is authentic, the case back does not correspond match with the watch, in other words, this is not the correct serial number. Also, I couldn’t find this exact model anywhere else. Ref 3221.30 is different on omega’s official website (the arrow moon) See below. https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-...-day-date-chronograph-40-mm-day-date-32213000 Can anyone please advise if the model I bought is a fake one?
Hello, the correct ref is 3523.30.00 or 3521.30.00 according to the size. 39 and 38mm. Does the movement number matches?
This is is the only closeup pic I have (from the vendor). Is this what you’re asking for ? Per swatch service center, older movements like these are not serialized.
There should be a serial number on the movement. Somewhere on the plate that matches the SN of the case (on the lug or in your case 58220258) the 58xxxxxxx SN coresponds to the year of production. I think 58 is circa 2002/2003
Per swatch service Center order omega model movements are not serialized so there’s no way of knowing if the caseback and movement match with each other.
yes your'e right. I Forgot about that. all the 1151 have no serial numbers. The ref you gave us (3221.30) corresponds to the 3606 movment.
Yes but there is a way for a service centre or someone with Omega extranet access to see if that serial corresponds to that model. If they are saying it doesn't then you have a problem. Maybe our very own friendly watchmaker with such access @Archer could comment on what model serial 58220256 is returned as by the extranet. Note Kwijibo made a typo with the serial earlier.
The vendor denied that caseback didn’t belong to the watch. Honestly I don’t think he knew what he was selling. I mean he gave wrong reference number that being said, should I be concerned?
Ok thanks. It’s possible that the caseback was swapped when servicing the watch by mistake. But in any case, do think it’s authentic watch or should I just get a refund?
If you paid it 2700 bucks I would returnn it as there are many examples at much less. https://www.chrono24.com/search/ind...0&searchexplain=true&sortorder=1&watchTypes=U
Thanks. I’d consider keeping the watch if it’s an original. Is there a way to know if the watch is authentic?
I see nothing indicating the watch is a fake, but the incorrect caseback serial # would definitely bug me.
Is it all Omega? Can’t say for sure without opening it, but the fact that it has the wrong case back at the very least makes it a franken in my view. If you ever want to sell this on, you may have problems, and you may also have issues with Omega servicing it...they may want to make it original again. You seem determined to keep it, but personally I wouldn’t. It’s not as advertised, so the cleanest thing is to send it back.
