UPS, This is ridiculous

We get many Amazon deliveries dropped on our doorstep. I have 12 hi-def security cameras around our home that have motion-activated-recording. If by chance a package ever went missing, I'd at least have some documented evidence to review.

Interestingly, before Christmas last year our neighbours across the street had a 60+" television delivered and left at their front door. I don't think anyone in our neighbourhood is too worried about theft... although my bigger concern would have been leaving a high-priced electronic device out in the cold for a few hours.
12! wow I thought I was bad.
What I have found is that having them is great
especially when out of town. The downside
is having to review all the alerts every day.
But what are you going to do?

I bought something online yesterday, and the shipping option for UPS ground to a residence here in the US indicated a delivery time as late as 11:00 pm. First time I have ever seen that in print. For a business address it was 6:00 pm.

UPS delivery windows are estimates.
FedEx will allow you to pay for guaranteed delivery in a specific window.
If you ship overnight with UPS, you can GPS track the truck online and the delivery times generally improve.

I bought and had cameras installed for my wife's peace-of-mind, and it was related entirely to our daughter and not any material possessions.

When I started researching, I found a 'package deal' that included 12 and so went for it. We live on a corner and our house isn't a rectangle so it made sense to me at the time (although it does sound a bit 'over-the-top').

I only have alerts set for the camera inside the garage, so I know and can see when my wife and/or daughter are entering the house. A friend was telling me on the weekend he set his to send a picture via email whenever his front-door has motion triggered, I will be looking into this for mine as well.

True story. A friend of mine is a UPS driver. He is at home watching the 10:00 news after a long day in December. The news is showing video footage from someone’s house showing a woman stealing packages from the front porch of the house. My friend tells his wife that the house looks familiar. It is familiar because he realizes he delivered there earlier in the day. The next day he already had missing package paperwork.

Please, finish the story!

It sounds as though someone with access to the paperwork had something to do with the stolen packages, i.e., most likely an employee 😲...

... or, perhaps UPS pulled the paperwork for an internal investigation?

I have read quite a few stories over the last few years where crooks follow the delivery trucks around,, and then steal packages that have been left outside. They steal without knowing what the contents will be.

Believe me it is only the crack addicts that do this. There is no money in it and if interstate is a federal crime.

I guess I mis-read your post when you said 'missing package paperwork'. I though you meant that you meant the paperwork suddenly went missing...🙄. I see now you meant he had to file paperwork for the missing package...

No, I'm not a knee-jerk conspiracy theorist! 😁

The customer called UPS with a missing package, and my friend got the paperwork the next morning. Usually he would have the recipient sign stating they have not received the package. In this case he just showed the video to his boss and case closed.
